If an item is checked out or owned by another library, you may place a hold either in person while visiting the library, online through our catalog, or over the phone (have your library card ready). You will be unable to check out items if your card is expired; if you have 10 or more items overdue; or if you owe $5.00 or more in fines. New items owned by a library other than your hometown will not be lent out.
Museum Passes, Toys, and Electronic Equipment must be returned inside the Clifton Library to the circulation desk at the location you borrowed it from. All other materials may be returned in our outdoor book boxes. (Fines will still accrue any day past the due date, including days the Library is closed.) Materials from PALS Plus libraries may be returned at any PALS Plus library location.
Electronic Equipment
The Library is adding various pieces of equipment to its circulating collection, such as hotspots and iPads. Hotspots and iPads are currently available for checkout only at the Main Library as we have a limited amount. Please click here to open the Policy for Checkout of Electronic Equipment.
Homebound Service
The Library provides free delivery of books and audiobooks to those residents of Clifton who are homebound, reside in a nursing home or assisted living environment. If you feel you qualify for this service, please complete our online form or print and fill out the application and mail it back to the Library. Someone will then be in touch with you to confirm details and set up deliveries.
